Our practice uses exclusively white (tooth coloured) fillings. There are several reasons for us to prefer this material:

​

• White fillings are not harmful for your health as they do not raise concerns related to the perceived toxicity of mercury (silver) amalgam

• White fillings are more natural looking as they can be matched to the colour of your teeth

• Modern composite materials used in white fillings are as strong as those in silver amalgam 

• In certain cases white fillings involve less drilling of the tooth because the cavity does not have to be shaped as much as for a silver amalgam filling
